Our Wednesday evening ‘Something Else’ session specializes in all that is experimental, extra ordinary and unpredictable. From free jazz to bebop to psychedelic jangle pop, from post punk garage folk to traveling singer songwriters; we open the stage to musicians with a beatniks flare for the unorthodox.
Something Else evenings have made Blue Smoke a regular haunt for music enthusiasts far and wide. Each Wednesday we present to you music that is fresh, free style and infinitely interesting.
On Wednesday the 12th of October our special guests are Devilish Mary and The Holy Rollers
Devilish Mary and the Holy Rollers are a trio playing music that starts with western swing, moves through swing jazz, torch songs, lounge and exotica, through to some outlying 70s and even 80s favourites. Most are covers of classic or obscure old songs, and some are original (and thus still obscure). Anita Clark sings and plays violin, Simon Gregory plays guitar, Mike Kime plays the upright bass.
