JOHNNY BARKER (THE ARISTOCRATS) // THE BONNIE STRIDES // ECHO CHILDREN // DR MOONJUICE (THOMAS CULLEN) + 1 more act to be announced
Buckle in for our fifteenth showcase of the year!
After this one there are only two more dates left in our 2016 showcase, so make sure you pop on down unless you can live with the FOMO.
We're taking a few weeks break in November for Hayley's birthday, but we have a special show ready to announce shortly which will take place in what should have been a showcase slot on the 20th of November. Keep up-to-date via our Facebook page.
Kingsland Folk Club is a fortnightly affair featuring an array of New Zealand's cream of the crop folk performers, and has previously hosted some amazing talent, including (but not limited to) Aldous Harding, Tattletale Saints, Nadia Reid, Julia Deans (Fur Patrol), and Hopetoun Brown.
This season alone has seen Troy Kingi, Jessie Sheeran, Lubin Rains (The Vietnam War), Milan Borich (Pluto), Adam McGrath (The Eastern), Ed Waaka, Maaka Pohatu (Modern Maori Quartet), and a whole heard of other really great names, with many more to come.
Curated by Rodney Fisher and Hayley Smith, KFC is a night of hand-crafted folk music from some of New Zealand's most talented established and up-and-coming musicians.
Each musician will perform a short set of some of their favourite songs for your listening pleasure, while you enjoy the ambiance and top-notch hospitality of Flight 605.
Unfortunately we don't take any walk-up musicians on the night, but if you'd like to play at a future KFC, just message our Facebook page with a link to some of your music and we'll see what we can do.
