This fundraiser is to subsidise/fund workshops which will be facilitated by the Sexual Abuse Prevention Network, an agency which is a collaboration of Wellington Rape Crisis, Wellstop and Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation
http://sexualabuseprevention.org.nz/
The aim of the workshops is to address and form practical strategies that people in the Wellington Music/Arts community can use to prevent Sexual Abuse from happening, and to help develop skills to appropriately support people who may experience Sexual Abuse at music/arts events. This includes Bystander intervention, and developing skills to appropriately support disclosure of sexual assault.
Dates of workshops TBC but likely to take place Nov/December 2016 and February 2017. Please note 2016 workshops will give priority to people who are helping with summer festivals/events.
Expressions of interest please email Marika Pratley marikapratley@gmail.com with “Music Art SAPN” in the subject line. In the email with names of those interested, and contact details, If you are volunteering at a festival or event pleast include what festival/event/organisation you are representing - a database will be created to keep all registered people up to date.
Please note 2016 workshops will give priority to people who are working/volunteering with summer festivals/events. Ideally these will be free, but there may be a small registration fee/or koha system if we not able to fundraise all costs.
Thank you to all the amazing bands playing, and to all those who are coming to this great show!
