Gig Information

Come work up a sweat to the grooves of the Hothouse crew. Collectively this group of new/old school producers, djs and artists have years of experience in the local and international scene. Centered around house but stylin in to other related genres, will be sure to make you get up on the floor

Doctor Freakinstein (Live): Doctor Freakinstein aptly describes this seasoned musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, multi-media producer and performance-artist. Signed to King Records in 1999 has seen the steady release of an album and singles. Doctor Freakinstein has an epic history of performance at national and international venues/events spanning from 1990 to present in different corners of the globe - NZ, AU, USA, JPN, CN: Freq Tour, Deep South, Oscillate, New Beginnings, Gathering, Fine, Heaven, Wave, Destination, Red Eye, The Happening, Massive, Full Moon, Down Under Thunder, Outcast, Soul Experience, Earth Survival, Orange Clock, Anoyo, Alien Invasion, Dusk Till Dawn, Photo-tonic, Hyper, 7th Element, X-Static, Mother, SOS, Vision Quest, Ageha, Utage, Solstice, Splashdown (to name a few)… Get ready to stomp it out to the funky beats of the freak

Craig Shaw: DJ Craig Shaw quite simply put is one of Christchurch’s longest standing and most experienced DJ’s. He has moved through multiple music scenes and mixed all types of genres from Hip Hop and RnB to House, Trance and Hardhouse. In recent years, Craig has firmly cemented himself as a Nu-School Funk, Nu-Indie Disco and House DJ. Synonymous for constantly dropping funky bass lines, familiar riffs and catchy tunes, Craig has supported acts such as Fatboy slim and UB40. A regular DJ at legendary Christchurch venues including Espresso 124, Base Nightclub, Ministry Nightclub, Hybrid, Mansion, Barfly, Civil n Naval and The Monday Room, Craig has also played at numerous festivals including The Gathering and most of Christchurch’s iconic clubbing nights forging deep memories into reminiscent conversations

Mistameana: Mistameana's passion for music stems from 20 years in the Christchurch dance scene, rocking the dance floors to a wide range of music. With his passion for music and encouragement from DJ friends, it was inevitable that he would progress over to the 'other side'. After tips and tricks from the likes of JK (Tech Lab) Ben Fulford Talbot & Karma, Mistameana with a natural talent and ear for sound was quickly snapped up and has now played at the likes of Massive (Autumn Equinox) and Dystopia. He loves banging out good ole high-energy psytrance, minimal and tech house, stating that some music should be illegal it's so sick - worthy of a Mistameana at bare minimum

Karma: Her name is Karma, and DJ name is KARMA! The good kind, naturally J. Thanks to the likes of Defender, Cyan, Clubcam, Jae K, Ben Fulford-Talbot, who have taught, influenced and encouraged her over the years, Karma has been mixing on Vinyl and Serato for 12 years. Her slip mats are often the cause of much debate: 'Real DJs Play Vinyl'. At the beginning, her musical selection included mixing stomping hard house and hands-up-in-the air trance. With a good ear for banging tunes and a unique music selection that gets the punters on the dance floor, she is now more inclined to mix Electro House, Funky House and with a dose of Psy-Trance for good measure. Back in the day, she ran a gig called Visualize. She has played at Capitol and Heaven nightclubs (e.g. Heaven's Angels), along with Massive gigs (e.g. Spring Equinox) and Winnie's Ferrymead (e.g. Mistress Mash-up). Usually one would find her front center getting her groove on the dance floor (including professionally dancing for Carl Cox, Lisa Lashes, and The Base), but she has recently decided to come out of the woodwork and get back to 'the other side'. With a 'women's touch', she brings good Karma and good vibes to the clubbing scene.

More to come soon...
