Gig Information

Into Orbit celebrate the release of their second full-length album ‘Unearthing’ at San Fran Wellington on Friday 10 February, joined by special guests His Masters Voice.

Tickets on sale now from UTR, Slow Boat and RPM.

Into Orbit formed in 2013 in Wellington, New Zealand born from a collaboration between guitarist Paul Stewart and drummer Ian Moir. Describing their music as ‘experimental rock’, Into Orbit’s sound runs the gamut from post-rock and soundtrack/soundscape, to metal, prog, doom, noise and drone.

They’re certainly a world class act in my view. A duo that is slowly, surely, crafting a sound with legs, with heart, with soul – with a long-term durability... It’s hypnotic, mesmeric and subtly anthemic. It feels – while it’s happening – like the only thing that matters. - Simon Sweetman (www.offthetracks.co.nz)

Into Orbit seeks to evoke moving narratives via textural suites. They inject unorthodox time signatures into songs that counterpoint sweet-tempered and stentorian passages. And they ignore strict genre guidelines, combining post-and-progressive-rock and post-metal, with a touch of drone and ambient elements added on. - Craig Hayes (www.sixnoises.com)

His Master’s Voice

His Masters Voice call their style of music “The Devils Blues”. Listen to their 2014 album ‘Possession’ and you will hear influences from the greats of classic HEAVY rock but with a contemporary energy and relevance.

Musically and visually the band possess an inventive and original signature style that showcases the strength of their collective songwriting, yet allows their individual talents to show through. His Master's Voice put everything into their live performance. To them, their audience comes first and that audience grows in number and dedication with every show.

“…Full of Led Zeppelin swag, they are smooth and easy on the ears. It's hard not to get swept up in the moment and it’s never easy to fully capture to readers how great of a show they put on. Vocalist, Jesse Sorensen has the blues running through his veins, an old soul in a young man’s body that clearly lives and breathes what he does and it shows. A tight band that sound years above their average ages…” - Kerry Monoghan (www.muzic.net.nz)
