Silver Scroll nominee Lydia Cole writes bare-boned, heart-on-your-sleeve songs. They’re sparse and beautiful landscapes that carve out the universal themes; life, love and loss. If her 2012 album Me and Moon introduced an artist both youthful and world-weary, her follow up The Lay of the Land showcases an artist with the maturity only battle scars can provide. Set for release in February 2017, The Lay of the Land sees Cole exploring a broader palate; the full sonic spectrum, from hushed organic vulnerability to washes of digital swells, all the while with heart firmly on sleeve.
Celebrating the release of the album with a string of intimate shows, Lydia will be backed by her band of friends and studio mates, bringing the album and its intricacies to life onstage.
