Gig Information

Pop a fizzy, grab a bite and get dancing with us on the opening day of EcoWest Festival. The Down and Dirty // Rooftop Party is the first of more than 100 events at our month-long celebration of love for our environment - and it's a party with a twist.

You can choose to earn a ticket by digging in alongside our restoration team at one of the working bees at 11am-1pm, or pay $20 for entry (proceeds will go towards supporting EcoMatters restoration projects).

ROOFTOP PARTY

We've partnered with some awesome local businesses to put on a great party for you. On arrival you'll enjoy a complimentary beer or cider from Hallertau Brewery (non-alcoholic options available too of course) and delicious mezze platters from Deco Eatery. We'll fire up the BBQ for a hearty feed including sausages from Clarks the Organic Meat Specialists, artisan bread from Crafty Baker and fresh salads from FreshChoice Glen Eden. There will be a cash bar if you'd like to purchase more drinks.

Tunes will be provided by Ben James Leo and DJ Charlotte Red. The rooftop terrace will be transformed into a chilled out beer garden-style setting thanks to Rocket Events.

The Rooftop party winds up at 6pm, but that doesn't mean the party has to end. Deco Eatery is right downstairs in Lopdell House and is the place to go for another drink or dinner.

GET DOWN AND DIRTY - WORKING BEES

Mulching with Project Twin Streams Glen Eden
No need to go to the gym, spreading mulch is a best boot camp you can go to - with the added value of supporting young streamside native plants to grow faster. Help Gabriela spread mulch, which will add nutrients to the soil, keeps the soil moist and prevent weeds from smothering young native plants.

Potting plants in New Lynn
Join Chrissy to help with native seed propagation! Muck in and learn all about how it’s done, and how native plant propagation can contribute to protecting our land and streams. The seeds you nurture will be used in stream restoration projects in the local area. Bring a hat, sunscreen and a snack to keep you going! Finish up with a cuppa with Chrissy.

Stream clean up in Massey
Come and be part of the restoration of the Manutewhau Awa (Stream) in Massey. Join Alanah and Massey Matters as they collect rubbish from the streambanks and surrounding reserves. We love taking care of our local waterways and would love to show you this beautiful pocket of nature.
