From the drama of Piaf to the steamy hot clubs of Paris, La Luna (Caro Manins) & the Gadjos, are New Zealand’s premier vocal gypsy band, performing an irreverent mix of French gypsy mayhem or 'Manouche' with the raucous sounds of New Orleans jazz.
The multilingual talents of La Luna (Fr: the mad one) and her top line band, create music with authentic feel and lashings of passion. Designed especially for New Zealand audiences, they combine classic swing numbers such as Puttin on the Ritz and Swing Brother Swing with traditional Manouche and vintage Piaf ~ La Vie en Rose, J'attendrais, Douce Ambiance, and L'accordeoniste.
Wellington Jazz Festival is on from June 7-11.
