Gig Information

Naomi Ferguson - voice, piano
Alex van den Broek - piano, guitar, trumpet

Accomplished musicians, Naomi Ferguson and Alex van den Broek have performed together both nationally and internationally over the last eight years. Both having their early training in jazz, they are exponents of the art of the song.

Naomi's singing is dramatic and narrative by nature, and together she and Alex delight in creating unique and personal interpretations of songs from the Great American Songbook, the singer-songwriters of the Folk era and beyond. They also compose songs together and enjoy the collaborative process.

This performance will be an intimate concert of beloved songs, and some gems that lie just off the beaten track.

“Ferguson is a superb musician with a gorgeous, golden voice. Every song is beautifully sung with complete assurance and stylistic control.” www.theatreview.org.nz

“Ferguson has that rare ability to wrap you up in her songs and, caressing every syllable, tell her story with directness and warmth.”
The Christchurch Press

Naomi has three studio albums to her name which are available for purchase on iTunes. She also writes and records electronic music as part of duo Speak Softly whose music can be found on Bandcamp.
