Gig Information

We're getting a little restless waiting for a new season of KFC to begin, so we're throwing this pop-up showcase! Full of great music with a secret line-up that we'll start to announce soon, don't miss out on an evening of good sounds and company, and as a one off we'll be at Portland Public House where it all began back in 2013.

Free entry from 6pm (though we'll have a little koha jar if you're feeling super generous).

Can't wait to see you all!

Kingsland Folk Club is a carefully curated show full of hand-crafted music across many different genres, from some of New Zealand's most talented established and up-and-coming musicians, all put together by Hayley Smith and Rodney Fisher (Goodshirt). Each act will play a short set of 3 songs in an intimate setting.

This time featuring performances from Sandy Mill, Emily Fairlight, Maree Sheehan and Tony Daunt & The Dauntless, with 2x (amazing) secret guests.

KFC began in 2013 and has played host to some amazing talent including (but not limited to) Aldous Harding, Tattletale Saints, Maaka Pohatu, Troy Kingi, Adam McGrath (The Eastern), Hopetoun Brown, Nadia Reid, and Julia Deans (Fur Patrol).

Unfortunately we don't take any walk-up musicians on the night, but if you'd like to play at a future KFC, just message our Facebook page or email us at with a link to some of your music and we'll see what we can do.

acoustic/solo, alternative, blues, country/folk, electronic, hip hop/rnb, pop, soul/funk, Sandy Mill, Emily Fairlight, Maree Sheehan, Tony Daunt & The Dauntless
