Tim Sellars is a drummer and percussionist based in Christchurch. He is involved heavily in the Jazz, musical theatre, pop, and World percussion scene and is excited to bring his band Mukhlisa to WJC.
Mukhlisa is a World music group that blends Western instruments and Jazz harmony with the percussion instruments of the Middle-East. This makes for an exciting, fresh sound with plenty of energy and passion. Mukhlisa was first showcased at Christchurch's New Music Collective World of Jazz night in 2012. Since then, they have featured in other NMC events, various Jazz and Blues festivals in Christchurch, and have played in Auckland twice as part of the CJC concert series.
