Violinist and composer Fiona Pears is putting on her first major concert in Christchurch since her February 2011 show at the Isaac Theatre Royal, (http://isaactheatreroyal.co.nz/shows/fiona-pears-music-with-passion/). This was the last show in the theatre before the earthquake; taking place just three days before.
Fiona has since toured New Zealand extensively and played smaller venues in Christchurch, but is excited to be back performing to a larger audience in her home town.
From Fiona:- I will be performing a selection of Stéphane Grappelli's most loved tunes in this concert which celebrates the life of the virtuoso French jazz violinist. Grappelli passed away twenty years ago on December 1st and he was a huge influence on my musical journey. His music will live on forever, that's for sure.
I'm very excited to be doing this show with a few old friends! Tom Rainey on piano, Keith Petch on guitar, Greg Donaldson on drums and Michael Davis on double bass.
