Gig Information

The Hard-Ons are an Australian punk rock band which formed in 1981. Founding members included Keish de Silva on guitar, vocals and Peter Blackie Black on guitar, Ray Ahn soon joined on bass guitar with de Silva switching to drums. The group issued eight studio albums before disbanding in 1994. They reformed in 1997 to release further material. In 2002 de Silva was replaced on drums by Peter Kostic, who was replaced in turn by Murray Ruse in 2011. De Silva returned as a guest vocalist in 2014 and permanently rejoined the band in 2016. During their first 12 years, the group issued 17 consecutive number-one hits on the Australian alternative charts. During that time they became Australia's most commercially successful independent band, with over 250,000 total record sales.[1]

Australian music historian, Ian McFarlane, described their music as cheap and potent, their appeal selective. Yet never has so much been owed by so many to so few chords ... fused punk tempos, hardcore attitude, heavy metal riffs and surf-pop melodies into a seamless ball of energy.

The HardOns returned to NZ last year with 2 exhilirating shows which showed they are still one of the worlds great live bands .

Huge support in Raglan from 3 great bands , Mobile Stud Unit , 5 Girls and Illicit Wah Wahz .

Mobile Stud Unit were a legendary Hamilton based Punk or Pus Rock band from the 90s/2000s famed for their incendary live shows .They released 4 albums Blood Spew ,Flaps,My Pyjamas smell Acidiky and Road Kill .This gig marks their first show for 10 years so expect a huge one Illicit Wah Wahz are Raglan locals who formed out of the ashes of infamous rockers The Clap . Their heavy Kyuss meets Black Flag sound demands attention and they will be using this gig to showcase their new albm Speed of Dark. 5 girls are currently a 3 piece female rock band based in Raglan, who formed in the early 90s and were active in the underground scene around NZ. The girls reformed in 2016 and have recently played with Shonen Knife and at the Future City Festival in Hamilton. Currently recording an album of new material, they describe as - Stale coffee grinds fermenting in wine.
