MessMess And Yukon Era Team Up For North Island Tour

Brisbane trio MessMess have teamed up with local younguns Yukon Era for a tour of the North Island through late September and early October. MessMess brings together members of Ape Farm, Elvis got Fat and The Keepaways (the latter of whom toured New Zealand last year), who in their current formation carve out jams that blend together influences from the psychedelic, alternative and post-rock realms. Here are the tour details so far, but keep a lookout as more dates may be added...

Oldies is proud to share that the younguns Yukon Era and Kangaroo wannabes MessMess are going on a run around the North Island to break some sticks and some hearts.

MessMess is a Brisbane outfit made up of members of The Keepaways, Ape Farm and Elvis got Fat. Essentially, three mates, smiling, the wind in their hair having a swell jam, without a care in the world. Drawing on influences and sounds similar to Metz, At The Drive In, QOTSA and The Black Angels; MessMess smash out noisy, psychedelic drum and bass driven rock that is both groovy and infectious.

Just 5 teenage boys from the big city trying not to be tied down by parents and high school. All we wanna do is have an excuse to make noise and party every night. Driven garage rock songs entwined with a bit of Micro Korg action. If you come to a show we will try our hardest to high five you all.
