Listen: EL VY - I'm The Man To Be

EL VY, the recently formed collab between Matt Berninger (The National) and Brent Knopf (Menomena, Ramona Falls), has released new single 'I'm The Man To Be'. The duo are sharing the blithe track (which follows the eponymous lead single released last month) as they prepare to unveil their album Return To The Moon on 30th October via 4AD / Remote Control. 

Berninger explains the conception of the latest single as a kind of natural progression of ideas. "There’s this great Schoolboy Q song ‘There He Go’ which samples Menomena’s ‘Wet and Rusting’," he says. “I thought it would be funny to re-sample the same sample and do it from the perspective of a pathetic self-aggrandising rocker alone in a hotel room. Something I know a lot about. That’s how it started but then Brent took the sample out and we wrote an entirely new song". Watch the lyric video below...
