Auckland musician Nich Cunningham, who is perhaps better known as a member of local acts Lost Rockets and The Moonlight of late, has unveiled a new solo EP titled Swallow Needles. Inherently relatable to anyone with anti-social tendencies, the four-song offering blends together somber post-rock soundscapes and gloomy lyrics to conjure up a mood that Cunningham describes as a "crushing bleakness", wryly adding: "With summer impending, it finally felt like the right to time to inflict this on the public".
