Weekly Round Up: Friday 29th January

Friday 29th January, 2016 2:12PM

International tour news was a little quiet this week, but there were some great local tours announced for the near future. Auckland hardcore outfit Parents lined-up a five show tour for next month to celebrate the release of their new 10-inch Great Reward. Hip hop artist L V J revealed dates for a nationwide jaunt kicking off in February to support the unveiling of his new EP Pizzaboy. And it was revealed that Sydney-based electronic producer Lucy Cliché will be joining My Disco for their upcoming shows on these shores.

In release news, some amazing things came out of the woodwork. We were stoked to share new single 'The Wheel' from PJ Harvey's forthcoming album. Trip hop pioneers Massive Attack blew us away by releasing a new EP, along with a video starring actor John Hawkes. And Iggy Pop revealed a handful of new songs conjured up in collaboration with Josh Homme. Locally, Mermaidens premiered a gorgeous single from their upcoming debut album. Talented teen Lontalius shared details of his upcoming debut record, along with a new song. Wellington's Into Orbit unleashed an absolutely epic self-produced video along with new cut 'Dark Matter'. And on the streaming front, The Raw Nerves let loose their fantastic new EP Serious Beef, meanwhile six-piece Poor You Poor Me emerged with a long lost album they thought had been destroyed in a fire!!!

This week's Caught Live is not a music video as such, be we here at UTR appreciate science as much as a good tune, so here's Neil DeGrasse Tyson dropping some knowledge (and the mic) on rapper B.o.B earlier this week and his knuckle-headed theories that the earth is flat...
