U.S. Girls landed in Auckland yesterday to deliver an awe-inspiring Monday night show to a crowded Whammy Bar. The evening was opened by a charming set from ex-pat Aldous Harding who whipped out some new material from a forthcoming second album, before U.S Girls aka Meg Remy took the stage with her back-up singer Darlene Shrugg. The two women rocked the dancefloor while maintaining a cool and distant stage presence, meanwhile the sporadic appearances of a cowboy-hat wearing guitar player added an intriguing dynamic to the set.
