Video: Blonde Redhead - Defeatist Anthem By The Sea (Connan Mockasin Version)

NYC's Blonde Redhead are sharing a video for the woozy cover of their song 'Defeatist Anthem', as cooked up by our very own Connan Mockasin. The reworking of the song is part of their recent release Freedom Of Expression On Barragán, which is comprised of remixes of songs from their 2014 album Barragán, and includes contributions from the likes of Nosaj Thing and Deerhoof.

Frontwoman Kazu Makino says the idea to create a video for the cover was Connan's own. "It’s kind of a random idea to make a video for a remix song, but he needn't twice asking because I loved the idea, " shay explains. "My very first reaction was to do it by the sea — some place warm — and he also told me that he used to listen to our music driving around by the sea in New Zealand. I think we talked about Connan’s world and my world merging... but it felt like it was destined to be, so I wasn't too worried about details. I was just looking forward to spending some time with him." Soak it up below...
