RIP Jim Laing (JPS Experience)

We are saddened to learn of the death of James 'Jim' Laing, guitarist for seminal New Zealand indie-rock outfit JPS Experience. The band was formed in 1984 by Dave Yetton, Gary Sullivan, and Dave Mulcahy, and later joined by Laing - who had previously played with Nicotine. JPSE released three studio albums and a handful of EPs on Flying Nun before eventually disbanding around 1994, and Laing went on to form Lanky with drummer Robert Key, and releasing the album Wait in 2000.
