Caught Live: Transistors - Soft Drink

Caught Live: Transistors - Soft Drink

Wednesday 25th May, 2016 1:32PM

Gondola Sessions is a unique project that lines up raw acoustic performances by musicians in gondolas across New Zealand and Colorado, with an aim to "preserve a certain intimacy and authenticity in music recordings that can be lost in the studio". The project has captured sessions by the likes of Shakey Graves, Holly Arrowsmith, The Swan Sisters - and of course Transistors, who deliver a swinging rendition of their new (but old to them) song 'Soft Drink'. Watch below...

The Transistors will be appearing this Saturday 28th May at Kill Your Television at Canterbury Museum alongside The Bats, Salad Boys and Scythes. Head over here for more information.

Saturday's show is the last we are likely to see of Transistors for awhile, as bandmember James Harding explains: "Col's family commitments have meant he's needing to take a break from music and we fully support him in this. Olly and I are working on the third Transistors album, which Col has already done his parts for, however there are no plans for any Transistors shows beyond this Saturday's gig. Nobody knows what the future will bring - we may milk the oldies reunion circuit in a few years but in the meantime it's goodbye for now."
