Weekly Round Up: Friday 5th August

This week's tour news bought with it the announcement that Method Man and Redman are heading this way for one show in September. We also caught wind of the fact that Manchester outfit James are coming to New Zealand for the first time in November for a couple of shows. Australian surf rock duo Hockey Dad are jumping the ditch in September for two North Island performances. Las Vegas rock outfit Escape The Fate are coming to New Zealand for one show at the Kings Arms Tavern in October. And Christchurch trio T54 have four dates around the country lined up for later this month.

In release news, some awesome local offerings came out of the woodwork. We lifted the lid on Shayne P Carter's stunning new track from his forthcoming album Offsider. Young Hellions aka Maeve Munro shared awesome stand alone single 'Fractures and Cacophony' via Muzai Records. Auckland four-piece Sea Views unveiled their brilliant debut single 'Into The Night' from their upcoming EP of the same name. We heard from Wellington trio Draghound who put out a new single and did a great wee interview with Eyegum contributor Sophie Scott-Maunder. And trip hop legends Massive Attack put out two new songs, one of which features vocals from 90s goddess Hope Sandoval.
