Weekly Round Up: Friday 19th August

In this week's tour news there was a few interesting tidbits. We caught wind of that fact that in addition to their appearance at The Others Way festival the notorious King Loser are embarking on a nine-stop tour of the country. Brooklyn-based artist Julianna Barwick announced three New Zealand shows for October. Georgian heavy metal outfit Baroness popped up with one Auckland date for December. And hardcore crew Master Blaster are emerging from the big smoke for a 10-date traipse around the nation.

In release news, Karl Steven and Caoimhe Macfehin (both of Drab Doo-Riffs and Heart Attack Alley) unveiled gut-wrenching single 'Form Follows Function' under their latest project Queen Neptune. Also on the local front, Clap Clap Riot shared the propulsive lead single from their forthcoming third full-length album. Further abroad, Metallica unleashed their first single in eight years and simultaneously announced their upcoming album Hardwired... To Self Destruct. And Fat White Family (who were on these shores a few weeks ago) emerged with their brand new cut 'Breaking Into Aldi' which was created in conjunction with Sean Lennon and Cole Alexander of The Black Lips.

This week's Caught Live is Danish sonic innovator Puce Mary performing 'Posh Isolation' live in Toronto. Puce Mary will be on these shores for a four-date tour kicking off later this month, head over here for tickets...
