Features Announce 'X-Features' Vinyl Release + Share New Video For 'City Scenes'

Auckland punk band Features are set to release a 12-inch vinyl of their singles released during their late 70s and early 80s heyday. As detailed by Audioculture, the band formed in 1979, led by Jed Town (guitar) and James Pinker (drums). Both were members of The Superettes with Paul Kean (later The Bats), and when Kean left to join Toy Love they pulled in Karel Van Bergen (vocals, ex-Primmers), and Chris Orange (bass, ex-Terrorways) to complete the line-up.

'City Scenes' was the band's first proper single, having been released on Propeller label in 1980. Now, with X-Features set for release via Flying Nun Records later this month, the group have let loose an official video for the single, directed by David Franklin and featuring footage from around Auckland in the early 1980s.
