My Baby Returning To New Zealand For Summer Tour

In what is becoming a regular summer tradition, Amsterdam-based psychedelic trance trio My Baby are returning to New Zealand for a run of dates through January and February. The three-piece have lined up appearances all over the country as part of their primal pre-release tour for upcoming record Prehistoric Rhythm, which is due out in March and follows on the coattails of their 2015 release Shamanaid. Psychedelic Blues-Trance trio MY BABY are set to return to New Zealand with their 'Prehistoric Rhythm' pre-release tour starting in January 2017.

Their new album 'Prehistoric Rhythm' is due to be released in March 2017.

Prior to this the band will embark on a 10 date tour of South Africa followed by dates in New Zealand including festivals Soundsplash, Luminate, Electric Avenue and Sweet az Sun.

With their new show the band aim to channel a primal awareness amidst hypnotic beats, shimmering vocals and rootsy Blues and Soul.

Based in Amsterdam, MY BABY is a Dutch/New Zealand trio that play a brand of psychedelic tribal blues trance. It’s a sound inspired by old blues and folk music, but played with the rawness of sixties and seventies soul and funk and an edgy trance like infusion of west African desert blues, Moroccan Gnawa and Indian ragas.

The band consists of Cato van Dyke on vocals and guitar, Sheik van Dyke on drums and vocals and Daniel 'Dafreez' Johnston on guitars. Together they bring a high energy, Rock and Roll fuelled show that leans towards electronic dance music.

After a UK tour in 2015 with Seasick Steve who has appraised their unique approach, and a release of their second album "Shamanaid' to much acclaim, My Baby has been spreading their mesmerizing live act to the approval of audiences worldwide featuring on renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Wilderness(UK), Reeperbahn (Germany), Sziget(hungry), Exit(Serbia) Pohoda (Slovakia) and Lowlands (NL) and many others.
