Stream Scaphist’s New Album 'Sunset Acquisition'

Ancient Persian-themed Auckland group Scaphist have dropped their first EP in six years in the form of the relentless Sunset Acquisition. Recorded by bassist/vocalist Harry Benson-Rea of Sassanid Productions, the new offering is seven tracks of blasting blackened death, occasionally interspersed with Eastern sounding instrumentation.
The world music influences found in the opening eponymous track conjure images of long-standing American band Nile and the opening pinch harmonics in rager ‘Bring Forth The Sacred Flames’ are reminiscent of tech-death favourites Necrophagist. Commence the acquisition below…
