The Stranglers Announce Two New Zealand Shows For Early 2018

Long standing Brit-punk purveyors The Stranglers have announced their return to New Zealand for two shows in early 2018. Last here in 2016l for three shows around the country, the legendary group are returning downunder as part of 'The Classic Collection Tour' which will see them deliver 20 of the most popular tracks from across their shenanigan-filled 40-year history, including the likes of 'Golden Brown', 'Strange Little Girl', 'Peaches' and 'No More Heroes'. The current line-up for The Stranglers consists of Jet Black, J J Burnel, Dave Greenfield, Baz Warne, who will be joined by touring drummer Jim Macauley...

THE STRANGLERS BRING THEIR CLASSIC COLLECTION DOWNUNDER

One of the UK's most important musical exports, The Stranglers announce their return to New Zealand in 2018 with their biggest tour in 30 years, ‘The Classic Collection’.

Taking 20 of their most popular tracks from their revered album classics, chart successes and fan favourites from across their 40-year history, The Stranglers prove their longevity and impact with tracks including ‘Golden Brown’, ‘Always the Sun’, ‘Peaches’, ‘Strange Little Girl’, ‘5 Minutes’, ‘No More Heroes’ and many more gracing the set list of this special event.

Coinciding with the planned re-release of the entire Stranglers studio album catalogue from the period 1977-82; The Stranglers will enthral audiences with an exciting mix of material, all bearing the distinctive signature style of this most enduring of British bands; driving rhythms, anthemic melodies, quirky time signatures and occasional dark humour, held together by those trademark rumbling bass lines and swirling keyboards.

The Stranglers are riding high on the crest of a resurgent wave of popularity.
