Weekly Round Up: Friday 28th April

Friday 28th April, 2017 3:00PM

In tour news this week Tami Neilson announced she will be taking her 'Songs Of Sinners' show around the country for an 11-stop tour kicking off late May. Stink Magnetic labelmates The Tape Wolves and Bloodbags announced their respective releases along with a bunch of killers shows all over the place. Cali pop-punk crew Joyce Manor revealed the dates for a three-show New Zealand tour for June. German thrash metal pioneers Kreator lined up an Auckland show with their Polish buddies Vader as special guests. Nineties R&B icon Keith Sweat is set to slide into the country for two shows in late July.  And Memphis singer-songwriter Julien Baker announced her debut appearance on New Zealand soil following an appearance at Splendour In The Grass festival across the ditch in July.

Lots of goodies in release news this week, highlights included the first brand new single from now-Berlin-based artist Seth Frightening in two years in the form of 'Rain In April'. Meanwhile his partner-in-crime i.e. Crazy lifted the lid off her eagerly anticipated debut album Non Compos Mentis via Muzai Records. Dunedin native Kane Strang shared brilliant new single 'My Smile Is Extinct' and revealed details of his upcoming sophomore record. The Paul Cathro Band let loose new track 'Like The Time' hot on the heels of Paul unveiling his debut solo record late last year. And Auckland's Clap Clap Riot have released their fourth album Dull Life, which will take them on a four-date tour next month.

This week's Caught Live is a clip of DJ Shadow (who will be making his way here in June) dropping a excellent version of 'Six Days' on the Coachella crowd...
