Live Photos: Napalm Death - Kings Arms, Auckland

British grindcore forefathers Napalm Death laid waste to the Kings Arms last night along with Malevolence, Lock Up and the machete equipped Brujeria. All of the breakneck tunes played were politically on point, with Napalm Death's ‘Dear Slum Landlord’ feeling particularly potent given the origin of the impending demise of the Kings Arms and other venue spaces in Auckland.

All bands were astoundingly tight, with not a single one of the roughly 10,000 rapid-fire notes played being out of place. The priceless look on Napalm Death vocalist “Barney” Greenway’s face when an entire dreadlock was left behind by stage invaders, along with renditions of Anti-Cimex and Dead Kennedys tunes were the cherries on the evening's musical cake.
