Angel Olsen Shares Haunting Video For 'Special'

US indie-folk artist and recent visitor Angel Olsen has released a beautiful and haunting video for new song ‘Special’ in advance of her upcoming Phases collection of B-sides and rarities. The self-directed and edited video is comprised of grainy and flickering super 8 camera footage of the artist travelling through rural environments and pursuing everyday activities like record shopping and hanging around the house. Olsen talked about the casual and nostalgic qualities in a statement about the new clip…

“My friend came to visit me for a week and I had all these grand ideas about how to make another video. But it’s been a long year of touring and videos and pressure to keep on being important or interesting. So I woke up the next day and changed my mind, deciding it would be best to just capture the days we were hanging and to occasionally have the camera up. Those days were some of the hardest and also sweetest of the summer.”
