Young Thug Cancels New Zealand Shows

Young Thug Cancels New Zealand Shows

Monday 26th February, 2018 12:25PM

Atlanta rap superstar Young Thug will no longer be playing at this week's upcoming Auckland City Limits 2018 and Dunedin's Outer Limits festival, following news that the artist had been denied entry to Australia for scheduled performances at Sydney City Limits and alongside Future. Heroically stepping in to the breach will be local hip hop heroes Scribe and P-Money for the Auckland festival and Australian EDM artist Alison Wonderland for the Dunedin event. This isn't the first time the rug's been pulled on New Zealand shows by the rapper, he was originally scheduled to appear at Laneway Festival 2017 before similarly announcing he was unable to play. The organisers of Auckland City Limits shared the following statement on Young Thug's cancellation...

"Young Thug was granted a New Zealand visitor visa on 12 February 2018, so he is entitled to enter New Zealand and to perform. Since his Australian tour dates were cancelled we have tried to get him to honour his commitment to play in New Zealand, but to no avail. Young Thug has made the decision not to come to New Zealand."

Here's Scribe and P-Money's stone-cold classic 'Not Many' to cheer you up after the bad news...
