Donald Glover / Childish Gambino Bringing Pharos Festival To New Zealand

Multitalented actor / musician Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has announced he'll be bringing his multimedia PHAROS festival to New Zealand this year from 23rd to 25th November, at a yet to be disclosed location near Auckland Airport. The camping event is described as a series of experiential virtual reality and multi-sensory performances, featuring new music from the acclaimed US artist and special guests. The PHAROS experience was first debuted in Joshua Tree, California in 2016, with Glover premiering tunes from his Grammy-nominated album Awaken, My Love, and performing collaborative material inside a giant dome in the desert.

While details are still emerging on the second-ever iteration of the three day event, Glover has confirmed via his Twitter account that tickets are now on sale. He talked about the upcoming festival with Vanity Fair, stating "Pharos is meant to be a communal space - a place that evolves and reacts to the culture... We aren't tied to a format and that lets us adapt in a way that others can't. We're selling real intimacy ... We're looking at expanding the world in 2018 - there will be more artists involved."
