Jack White Shares Expansive Album 'Boarding House Reach'

White Stripes raconteur Jack White has dropped his third solo album Boarding House Reach, his first solo release since 2014's Lazaretto. Recorded at Third Man Studio in Nashville, the thirteen track collection takes the fuzzy, blues-drenched garage rock which made the White Stripes a phenomenon and expands it’s sonic horizons with the liberal use of modern instrumentation.

Opener ‘Connected By Love’ begins, unexpectedly, with pulsing synthesizer and mixes in hints of early blues in vocal phrasing and subtle harmonica use against a backdrop of organesque tones, while ‘Corporation’ devolves into textural jam-territory that wouldn’t sound out of place on a latter-era Led Zeppelin album.
