Olympus Unleash Live Album 'Band On The Gum'

Monday 26th March, 2018 2:25PM

Noise-rock trio Olympus have shared a six song collection of tumbling tunes titled Band On The Gum. Comprised for these recordings of Auckland experimental mainstays Pat Kraus (Kraus), Stefan Neville (Pumice) and Claire Mahoney (It Hurts), the band's latest album was recorded live at sadly now-closed Port Chalmers venue Chicks Hotel. The tracks range from heavy noise belters to unpolished pop gems, second tune 'I Don't Wanna' sums up everyday feelings while foot-stomper '66504321' is a cover of classic sixties rockers The Troggs. Special guest Jeff Henderson provides bonus saxophone squawks on an excellent cover of Kraus' classic instrumental 'Wolfram' from his 2004 album I Could Destroy You with a Single Thought, as well as pounding number 'Bruce's Jack'. All tunes reward listeners with untamed sounds from beyond, listen up below...
