Coolies + The Futurians Share Self-Titled Split Collection

Auckland-based label / collective Uniform have unveiled their debut musical release, a split "collection of sounds and songs" from legendary noise-punks Coolies and The Futurians available both digitally and on cassette. Known for guerilla multi-media events and installations, Uniform are celebrating with a very rare performance from both bands this Saturday at Auckland's Dogs Bollix, with support from Executive Zone. While sonic outpourings are known to leak semi-regularly like radioactive slime from The Futurians' Dunedin HQ, this is the first collection of tunes from the Coolies since 2015's Kaka. We hit up Uniform for info on their latest musical venture, read their words below...

"Uniform is from the underground for everyone. After a series of guerilla music events in back gardens parks, carparks, galleries, and bars across Tāmaki Makaurau over the past three years, Uniform art collective is launching an AV label to document what the f they are up to. First up Uniform are releasing a split tape of new material from longtime band buds Auckland's Coolies and Dunedin's The Futurians with a show at the Dog Bollix this Saturday. The show will be The Futurians first show in Auckland since 2011 and follows the release in February of their Distorted Living LP on Feedingtube Records. 

Notorious locals the Coolies most recently played as part of Uniform affiliate Sriwhana Spong's exhibition at the Govett-Brewster (Art Gallery) and this show will see them return to punk form. These bands are renown for their blatant approach to noise creating chaotic live shows. They will be joined by Auckland beach resort darlings Executive Zone. Uniform will bring their total take-over styles to the Dogs Bollix with the installation of video works by the collective."
