Away With The Ferries Festival Lineup Announced

Thursday 14th June, 2018 11:36AM

Wellington's French For Rabbits have announced a festival of alt-folk sounds titled Away With The Ferries, featuring an expertly curated lineup of artists including Ida Lune, Timothy Blackman, Grawlixes, Mystery Waitress, Finn Johansson and the band themselves. To be held at the coast-side Breaker Bay Hall near Wellington's Seatoun in July, the festival is named after the ferries that sail past the venue and is envisaged to be an intimate affair, with only seventy five tickets available. French For Rabbits core member Brooke Singer shared a statement via social media about the tantalising winter event, read her words and check out the info below...

"It’s been a dream of mine to play a show at Breaker Bay Hall - it sits right opposite the sea, is where we filmed our ‘The Other Side’ music video, and is one of those quintessentially NZ local halls, cute as a button!

It’s also been on my mind that it would be a joy to curate a festival that was focused on quieter music - music that is driven by the story, and to create a cosy, welcoming space for this.

So I have landed on an evening of music in the dead of winter - kicking off with doors at 6pm, half-time hot soup, and wrapping up by 10pm. I wanted to create a line-up that equally represented women, and I am very excited all the bands agreed to play at this little event."
