Kamasi Washington Drops Divine Album 'Heaven And Earth'

Kamasi Washington Drops Divine Album 'Heaven And Earth'

Friday 22nd June, 2018 10:21AM

Virtuoso saxophonist and omnipresent jazz visionary Kamasi Washington has shared a colossal opus titled Heaven and Earth. Continuing in the same grandiose vein as earlier singles ‘Fists Of Fury’ and ‘Street Fighter Mas’ the sixteen tracks see the US artist engage in wild, cosmic explorations that push the envelope of sonic possibilities while collaborators (such as his backing band The Next Step, musical collective The West Coast Get Down and Auckland City Limits favourite Thundercat) hold down otherworldly grooves. With the shortest tune on Heaven and Earth weighing in at a hearty five minutes and forty four seconds, it comes as little surprise that the vinyl incarnation is no less than four LPs long. Stream it below and ascend beyond the earthly plane...

‘Heaven and Earth’ is out now via Young Turks.
