Auckland-based six string virtuoso Nick Brightwell dropped by the plush studios of RNZ to perform a delicate cover of 'Rivermen' by Beastwars. Lifted from the Wellington metal maniacs’ second full length Blood Becomes Fire, the two-time Gold Guitar Instrumentalist of the Year winner’s rendition is full of soulful vocals and understated acoustic guitar riffs, contrasting with the low-end heavy original version while maintaining its otherworldly qualities. The just-unveiled footage is timely, as Beastwars are smack dab in the middle of their hugely anticipated nationwide tour, with Auckland, Dunedin and Christchurch shows coming up fast.
