Lost Horizons Share Short Film 'Triptych'

Tuesday 21st August, 2018 11:31AM

Dream-pop duo Lost Horizons (Simon Raymonde from Cocteau Twins and Richie Thomas from Jesus and Mary Chain / Dif Juz) have unveiled a gorgeous nineteen minute short film titled Triptych, created in collaboration with BAFTA-winning director Kieran Evans (who has worked on documentaries about Vashti Bunyan and Saint Ettiene). The artfully shot, dialogue-less video uses three songs drawn from Lost Horizons' debut album Ojalá to propel its impressionistic storyline, revolving around relationships between various figures inhabiting the barren coastline of St David’s in Wales. Raymonde spoke of the origins of the collaboration in a conversation with The Quietus...

"Rather than just doing a straight video promo for the Lost Horizons album, he just came up with the idea of doing something long-form to tell a story which is linked or inspired by the songs, with the music used within the storytelling, to support the narrative. Because I love what Kieran does, I just wanted to see what he would come up with, and he just went off and did it!"

'Ojalá' is out now via Bella Union.
