Jordie Lane returns to New Zealand in December to celebrate the release of his new single ‘Fool For Love’.

Performing five solo shows in as many days, Lane will be joined by some acclaimed guests including NZ Music Award nominee Marlon Williams of The Unfaithful Ways, ex-Midnight Youth front man Jeremy Redmore and APRA Award winner Matt Langley.

These shows will also be the first anniversary of Lane’s first visit to New Zealand shores, when he blew away audiences around the country, selling out half a dozen shows.

2012 has been a landmark year for Lane. He has played a series of high profile showcases in North America, starred in the Australian premier of theatre show “Grievous Angel: The Legend of Gram Parsons” and started recording his third album in LA.

He is currently touring Australia as support for UK icon Billy Bragg, and will follow this with a 15-date tour of Australia.to promote ‘Fool For Love’.

Grounded in the Blues, ‘Fool For Love’ is a psych-folk rambler. Walking with a West Coast bass line and trashcan drums, the track also sees the return of The Eagle Rock Gospel Choir.

Recorded in LA with Grammy Award winning Producer Tom Biller (Kanye West, Beck, Fiona Apple) and legendary drummer Matt Chamberlain (Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Stevie Nicks), ‘Fool For Love’ marks a new direction for Australia’s folk troubadour.

It is the first single from Jordie’s forthcoming third album, due for release in early 2013, and follows his critically acclaimed 2011 release ‘Blood Thinner’ which was nominated for ‘Best Blues & Roots Album’ at the 2011 Australian Independent Music Awards.

“Jordie Lane’s debut album may well come to be regarded as one of the most assured ever by a local artist” Rolling Stone Magazine

“Definitely one to catch…Lane has a strong voice which cracks with emotion in all the right places, couches his songs in finger-picked guitars or banjo, pulls you into a lyric, and like Van Zandt he gives the sense of being an outsider who sees more than most.” Graham Reid for elsewhere.co.nz

“The result is upfront and honest, warm and detailed and offers a reminder that the best music need not be the best dressed. 4 Stars” Otago Daily Times on ‘Blood Thinner (2011)

“It’s hard to accurately describe the feeling in the room but it’s music like Jordie’s that makes it seem like the world’s not such a bad place, and nothing evil could exist when there’s something so sweet as that” AU Review.

“A very special gig and once again a great example of the quality folk music this country can produce. Thank you Jordie Lane” Timber & Steel
