Weekly Round-Up: Friday 9th November

Friday 9th November, 2012 12:52PM

It was an extra exciting day for tour announcements yesterday with the legendary Neil Young announced to play Auckland and Wellington in March with Crazy Horse, Cat Power announced her return for two shows in February despite recent reports of tour cancellations and indie-stalwarts Dinosaur Jr announced a one off Auckland show in March in support of their new release I Bet On Sky.  Earlier in the week Laneway Festival announced the first of six new additions to the 2013 lineup, Norway folk duo Kings of Convenience. They will be announcing the rest of the acts one at a time every Monday at 9am. And we are all still thoroughly buzzing about Radiohead's show on Tuesday night and we were lucky enough to have photographer Simeon Patience in the pitt for us, check out his shots over here if you haven't already.

In other international music news, the web is all a flutter with My Bloody Valentine news this week after Kevin Shields confirmed via NME that they will release the long awaited follow up to Loveless online THIS YEAR.  Talk of the album's release has been pretty constant since the band's recent reemergence but this is the strongest word yet on the matter. Furthermore, Shield's said that the album will be followed by an EP of new recordings.   In other release news, Queens of The Stone Age confirmed they are working on a new album with Dave Grohl back on drum duties and Trent Reznor has confirmed that he has been working on new Nine Inch Nails material, the band having been on hiatus since 2009. Reznor has also just released a new How To Destroy Angels EP which is available to stream over here.

On the local front, Sharpie Crows have posted their long promised new 'best of' album Nostalgia Kills online with a preorder for the vinyl which is due out in December - see gig listing below if you want a bit more bang for your buck. Seth Frightening has announced the release of his long awaited sophomore album Don't You Worry (Heat Death), out November 17th on Sonorous Circle and Cobra Khan have today released a new self-titled EP which you can stream over here.

Here are a couple of live television performances from this week featuring soon to be touring artists...

Bat For Lashes performing 'Laura' on Later With Jools Holland...

Cat Power performing 'Cherokee' on Conan...
