The Wedding Present have been officially announced to play two New Zealand shows in February. News we know some of you out there have been eagerly awaiting, the dates having been on their site for awhile now, the legendary C86-ers are touring for the first time on the back of new album Valentina. Lost And Lonesome present THE WEDDING PRESENT New Zealand Tour 2013

UK indie legends The Wedding Present are preparing for their first ever visit to New Zealand in February 2013.

Having enjoyed eighteen UK Top 40 singles (and perennial favourites of esteemed radio DJ the late John Peel), The Wedding Present originally formed in Leeds in 1985 and built a passionate following on the back of their dogged workload, strong DiY ethic and emotionally-charged perfect pop nuggets.

Considered pioneers of the "C86" movement, The Wedding Present boldly stood out from the pack with their noisy/jangly fast-paced guitars and earnestly growled vocals. Propelled by lead singer David Gedge’s perpetual broken heart and incisively brazen lyrics, The Wedding Present continue to influence today's indie rock scene, as can be evinced in the work of British Sea Power and The Pains of Being Pure At Heart among countless others.

2012 saw the release of The Wedding Present's eighth studio album, the well-received Valentina, (released on their own Scopitones label and licensed in Australia and New Zealand to Lost And Lonesome), which was followed by an unflinching touring schedule.

Having so enjoyed their recent maiden visit to Australia, The Wedding Present are overjoyed to finally visit New Zealand in Feb 2013 to delight fans with tracks from Valentina and their much loved back-catalogue.
