Listen: The Julie Ruin - Girls Like Us

Friday 4th January, 2013 10:33AM

The Julie Ruin was a solo recording project by seminal feminist musician Kathleen Hanna in the nineties that - much more recently - has turned into a fully-fledged band. The group were asked to record a track in celebration of a McSweeney's release called Real Man Adventures, written by T. Cooper. The book is about masculinity, and a different musician was asked to interpret each chapter. So this track, 'Girls Like Us', is The Julie Ruin interpretation of the chapter 'When I Knew'.
