Weekly Round-Up: Friday 19th April (Record Store Day Special)

Friday 19th April, 2013 12:49PM

As many of you will be aware already, tomorrow is Record Store Day, a worldwide annual celebration of the good old record store. It is a great excuse to get along and support your local(s) with many putting on special instore events and stocking exclusive RSD vinyl releases. As with the past few years we've put together a list of stores in the main centres and what they're up to, see below for that and here's a quick round-up of the week that was...

Japandroid's got the week off to a good start, announcing three New Zealand dates in September; Wellington experimentalists The All Seeing Hand and Seth Frightening announced nationwide tour dates; Black Sabbath released the first single from their eagerly awaited new album 13 which sees them play two Auckland shows this weekend; SJD was announced to have won the annual Taite Music Prize for his new album Elastic Wasteland and the Gordons were honoured with the new 'Independent New Zealand Music Classic Album' award; and Flying Nun announced the reissue of albums from The Clean and Bird Nest Roys.

Caught live we have Hello Sailor performing their hit track 'Gutter Black' in honour of founding member Dave McArtney who passed away this week. The clip is from a Campbell Live special about the final of Outrageous Fortunes....
