Weekly Round-Up: Friday 6th September

Welcome to Spring folks and it's release news causing the biggest stir this week with Arcade Fire offering the first taste of their new album Reflektor with a trailer and will release the first single on Monday,  Wooden Shjips announced the release of a new album in November titled Back To Land and released a trailer also,  the Pixies announced the release of a new EP with a video for new single  'Indie Cindy', MIA released another single from her long awaited album Matangi, our favourite kookmeister Connan Mockasin has announced he will finally follow up his excellent debut album Please Turn Me Into The Snat/Forever Dolphin Love in November with Caramel and the new EPs from both Sunken Seas and HDSPNS which we've featured recently are both now out. 

In tour news, The Boss - aka Bruce Springsteen - announced a second Auckland show after selling out his first Mount Smart Stadium show in minutes (!!), Rhythm and Vines revealed the second lot of acts playing this years festival, UK punk/new wave band The Members were announced to tour nationwide in November with Rat Scabies from The Damned on drums and eighties hitmaker Nik Kershaw announced an accustic tour of New Zealand in October.

Caught live this week, we have another video from Twin Shadow who is eerily in tune with the international acts heading our way having covered 10cc hit 'I'm Not In Love' last month and has now offered up his take on Bruce Springsteen's 'I'm On Fire'...
