Weekly Round-Up: Friday 20th September

As hinted at last week, a bunch of shows taking place in December were announced this week. On Monday noisey Canadian trio Metz were announced to be heading our way for the first time,  then yesterday Melvins were announced to be returning for a one-off Auckland show and Helmet too were announced to return and will play shows in Auckland and Wellington.  Other tours announced this week include the return of American producer Oddisee for two New Zealand dates next month, experimental musician Mark McGuire returns for shows in Auckland and Wellington this weekend and the mighty Mountaineater have announced nationwide tour dates in support of their debut self-titled album out next month.

A bit of festival news has cropped up this week also,  promoters of Germany's Fusion Festival are launching a festival called Off The Radar (no relation) north of Auckland in the new year,  A Low Hum are launching a second festival called Square Wave with the full details expected next month,  Splore announced more additions to their 2014 lineup and next Tuesday Laneway Festival will announce the lineup for the festival next year.

In release news, Mazzy Star's new album Seasons of Your Day is streaming in the lead up to it's official release next week, Scottish trio Chvrches have also been streaming their debut album which is out today here in NZ, Chicago's Pelican have released a new single from their forthcoming new album Forever Becoming,  Grayson Gilmour has released a teaser video today for a mysterious new project and staying in Wellington, The All Seeing Hand this week released a new single from their new album Mechatronics officially out next month and members of former Wellington bands Cortina and Diana Rozz have formed a new project called Fantasing and released a new EP this week.

Caught live this week we have Lorde performing 'Royals' on Later...with Jools Holland where she appeared earlier this week alongside Kanye West and Kings of Leon...
