Video: Giant Drag - 90210
Earlier this year Giant Drag front woman Annie Hardy unceremoniously released the band's sophomore album, Waking Up Is Hard To Do, on her personal Bandcamp. It had been seven years since she released her critically acclaimed debut record, Hearts and Unicorns, and during the interim Hardy has been plagued by drug addiction and illness, as well as being dropped by Interscope (Waking Up Is Hard To Do has actually been ready to go since around 2011 and the songs were mostly written a few years before that). No surprises then, that when Hardy shared this album she also announced Giant Drag would come to an end after one last tour, which finishes up in London this week. In celebration / to mourn, she has shared the video for Waking Up Is Hard To Do's opened, '90210', and you can take a look at the appropriately nostalgic (and home-made, on Photo Booth) video - a perfect accompaniment to Giant Drag's amalgamation of antithetical emotions, melancholy and optimism - below.
