Weekly Round-Up: Friday 18th October

Friday 18th October, 2013 2:37PM

It's been a pretty chill week on the tour front with some great intimate tours announced, the first being acclaimed Portland musician M. Ward who is returning next month for two acoustic dates and then  Nashville based country musicians Robert Ellis and Cory Chisel were announced to be heading over for a one-off Auckland show next month also.  There were a couple of announcements for those that like to party though,  new punk festival Fang Fest was announced to be taking place in Auckland over labour weekend and will feature over twenty local acts and La De Da new years eve festival made their second lineup announcement featuring Flume and Dead Prez.

On the release front, a tribute album to Duran Duran will be released in the new year and will see Liars, Warpaint, Little Dragon, Moby and more contributing covers, Wellington's Seth Frightening has released a great new EP, curiously titled Urine (A Container), for free download, fellow Wellingtonians, and sometimes label mates, Glass Vaults announced the release of a new EP and shared the title track 'Bright', Arcade Fire continue to build hype for their new album Relfektor releasing teaser clips for tracks 'Awful Sound (Oh Eurydice)', 'Afterlife'  and some lyrics,  former Testicles member Sam Mehran has released solo album as Outer Limits Recordings titled Birds, Bees, Babys, Bacteria, The Chills new live album Somewhere Beautiful is streaming in full via Fire Record's Soundcloud and we caught up with Anna Calvi to discuss or latest album One Breath as well as that crazy trio the All Seeing Hand to discuss their latest album Mechatronics.

Caught live this week we have Arctic Monkeys, who are rumoured to be heading our way this summer, performing 'Do I Wanna Know?' from their new album AM on US late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live...
