Weekly Round-Up: Friday 15th November

Weekly Round-Up: Friday 15th November

Friday 15th November, 2013 12:13PM

Here we are halfway through November already and while that is slightly alarming it does mean we're a whole lot closer to a heap of great shows including Merzbow, Neutral Milk Hotel and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (read our new interview with them here) in the next week (see below for more details) and then in December we have Melvins, Metz and Helmet - roll on the good times!  And on that note, lets go over this week's tour news...

Epic one-man-band Bob Log III got the ball rolling, announcing two New Zealand shows on Monday, we then confirmed the return of Okkervil River to New Zealand in February on Tuesday, Rhythm and Vines completed the 2013 lineup festival adding a mere 40 acts to the already bulging lineup and cosmic-rockers CAVE from Chicago announced three New Zealand dates later this month. Things then got quiet for the week bar a couple of tour updates including the announcement of Neutral Milk Hotel's support acts and Guitar Wolf have cancelled their Mt Maunganui show next month and will play Raglan instead.

To release news and Shocking Pinks are FINALLY releasing Guilt Mirrors but it is not the EP were were promised two years ago,  but a triple LP featuring over thirty tracks - certainly making up for the delay. In other news, Grizzly Bear have this week reissued their latest album Shields with a bunch of added extras (some of which we've collected together over here), David Bowie has also released an expanded edition of his latest album The Next Day including this remix from James Murphy (DFA, LCD Soundsystem), Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks announced the release of new album Wig out at Jagbags and shared the first single, Metronomy also announced the release of a new album titled Love Letters and shared the first single, Popstrangers shared the b-side of their new Rats in The Palm Trees 7", Death Grips have released a new album for free download and last but far from least, we've had the great pleasure of previewing the new EP from Watercolours Portals - all week which is officially out today.

Our video of the week goes to Lilly Allen for her controversial satirical new clip featuring new single 'Hard Out Here' in which 'Lilly Allen Has A Baggy Pussy' is spelt out in balloons - hilarious...
