Stream The New Self-Titled Album From Warpaint
Ethereal, L.A-based rock band Warpaint will return, on January 20th, with their sophomore, self-titled full length album, after receiving critical and commercial success for the debut album, The Fool, which they released back in 2010. According to frontwoman Emily Kokal (who we talked to recently; stay tuned for the full interview), the band have been listened to "a lot more rap and electronic music lately, and that’s the stuff we’ve been sharing with each other" and wanted to "create room and a world within each song that was a palpable visual experience, and I think that happened". The R&B influence nestles comfortably into the rhythm section - particularly on 'Hi' - creating an inviting bed for Warpaint's ambient persuasion to float above. Rough Trade are streaming the album in full before the official release date, and you can have a listen to it below.
